Motorcycle riders wear boots and shoes that come in various styles, colors, materials and stitches that suit different riding habits. Motorcycle boots can be found in styles such as cowboy boots, hiking boots and even Go-Go boots for women. Originally cowboy boots were worn by horsemen in the wild, Wild West. These bots were made of strong quality leather, constructed with high heels and a shaft that reached till the knees. These two features were included to protect the legs of the riders from snake bites, sagebrush and to have a better grip on the saddle. However, in recent times these boots have become increasingly popular among motorcycle riders. The Double H boots first started being manufactured in the town of Richland in Pennsylvania back in the year 1955. It became increasingly popular among wearers and surpassed other styles such as Wellington, packer, buckaroo and ropers. However, things turned around when the manufacturing company was bought over by H.H. Brown Shoe Company. Slowly the Double H boot reached customers beyond the boundaries of Pennsylvania.
During this time another shoe company launched a rival product known as the harness boot. This was countered by H.H Brown Shoe Company by a product known as the snoot boot. This variety of boots took the market over with rage. The reasonable pricing and comfort level f the product is what made it so popular among wearers in and outside of Pennsylvania. By this time the company had changed its name to Richland Shoe Company.
Later on a merger of two shoe making companies: Richland and Carolina ended up being managed by the same sales manager. The former continued to manufacture the snoot boots for a long time since its popularity never dwindled.
