The trick is in sticking to one "look" instead of mixing and matching eclectic pieces for experimentation purposes. You should keep in mind two rules of good fashion in leather.
First, leather in and of itself is a fashion statement. You need not pile on the accessories from the necklaces to the bangles and anklets. Think of Angelina Jolie in her tube leather dress and you will get the point.
For example, if you are the biker chick today, wear your leather mini skirt with a studded leather jacket and over-the-knee boots with little to no accessories. Office wear means a knee-length leather pencil skirt with ruffled blouse and blazer as well as sensible pumps. During the night, go back to your mini skirt but pair it with stilettos and a vintage shirt. So, now you know why you have to keep as many leather skirts as possible.
Second, wear leather outfits in their right size. Sure, you may want to squeeze into the tightest leather skirt you can find, but that can spell either a wardrobe malfunction or a really sleazy look. Neither one is good for your reputation. Leather is sexy enough to begin with, and you can adjust that up and down by varying the hemline.
The best tip for wearing leather skirts is to ensure that you are putting on the right one for the occasion and you are donning one in the right size. Now, that is the way to get things started off right. Where you take it from there is up to you! But be sure you have fun wearing one of the hottest fashions around.
